Spring Racing Flats from Asics
Mar 7th
ASICS’ most storied racing shoe, the GEL-DS Racer 9 features a new lightweight breathable upper, moisture drainage system and its famously stable ride. Geared for race day performance while providing ample support, the 9th edition of the popular DS Racer is ideal for over-pronators.
The DS Racer 9 is the only ASICS racing shoe to feature a Solyte midsole with a DuoMax Support System, making the shoe lighter while providing ample support. The new Magic Sole provides grip while improving ventilation, keeping fast feet cool. All this, and it only weighs 7.7 ounces(6.2 oz. for women)!
If minimalism is more your style, try the Gel-Hyper Speed 5!
Above: Men’s Gel-Hyper Speed 5
A favorite of American record holder Ryan Hall, the HyperSpeed 5 features a lightweight platform, breathable upper, and a moisture drainage system. This versatile shoe is well suited for a range of runners both on the road and around the track. The trusstic system beneath the arch reduces the weight of the sole unit while retaining the structural integrity of the shoe, and the Wet Grip outsole is made from a special blend of organic and non-organic components, designed to enhance traction even on wet surfaces.
Weight: 7.0 ounces
New Nike Zoom Elite+ 5!
Mar 7th
Try the new Nike Zoom Elite+ 5 – a lightweight, low-profile shoe with runner-specific support, responsive cushioning and a supportive fit for faster-paced training and racing!
Built for speed, the Nike Zoom Elite+ 5 keeps the foot locked into place while delivering excellent breathability: the independent adaptive fit midfoot support with lightweight mesh and strategically-placed overlays offer this breathable support. A co-molded 3/4-length crash pad and Nike Zoom unit in the forefoot give the shoe a responsive snap off the road. The carbon rubber heel and Duralon blown rubber in the lateral forefoot provide a durable, responsive traction element for all surfaces.
Since the ball of the foot takes a lot of impact during runs, the Nike Zoom Elite+ 5 has a thin, yet springy Nike Zoom unit in the forefoot. It helps provide cushioning while absorbing impact. The Cushlon crash pad runs three-quarters the length of the midsole and helps absorb shock, especially for runners who strike in the midfoot.
Weight: 8.6 oz. (women); 10.6 oz. (men)
