Plantar Fasciitis Shoes

What is plantar fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis (say "PLAN-ter fash-ee-EYE-tus") is a widely recognized reason of pain experienced in one's heel. The plantar fascia is the flat band of tissue (ligament) that connects the toes to the heel bone. The arch of the foot is supported by the plantar fascia. If the plantar fascia is strained, it can get swollen, inflamed and weakened. At that point, the heel or the base of your foot hurts to stand or walk.

Plantar fasciitis is common in moderately aged individuals, but it also occurs in athletes as well. It can occur in one foot or both feet.

What causes plantar fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is caused by straining the ligament that supports the arch of the foot. At Fast Break, we recommend a shoe with proper arch support to help avoid any straining on the ligament supporting the arch of your foot. Feel free to come by and see our great selection of arch support shoes and insoles. We are happy to answer any questions you have!
